Ikramul Haq Lahori to be executed today at Kot Lakhpat Jail

LAHORE - Death row inmate Ikramul Haq alias Lahori being kept in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat prison will be executed on Saturday morning.
Ikramul Haq, a member of banned militant outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, was sentenced to death by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in 2004. He was to initially set to be executed on January 8, 2015, but was delayed following an application that his family has reached a compromise with the victim’s family. However, on January 12, an ATC in Faisalabad rejected the bail plea of Lahori as the plaintiff did not reach the court to record his statement. Hence the death warrant was re-issued as the complainant didn’t appear before the court to record the statement within six days over his willingness submitted earlier in writing to pardon the convict.
