The minister says Panama Papers case is in final phase, government would accept SC’s verdict

ISLAMABAD: Defence and Water and Power Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that the Panama Papers case was in the final phase and the government would accept any verdict the Supreme Court (SC) gives.

Talking to a private news channel, he said that the Panama case was not a matter for Pakistani people as the name of prime minister was not mentioned in them.

The minister said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was trying to discuss the Panama Papers issue on the media to ‘score some political points’.

He said that veteran politician Javed Hashmi was warmly welcomed into the party by PTI leadership, but now Imran calls him ‘mentally sick’ as Hashmi began telling the truth about him (Imran).

Responding to a question, the minister said that several mega energy projects would be completed in the country by the end of 2017 and power load shedding would significantly be reduced in next summer season.

Asif said the government provided Rs 171 billion subsidy to the consumers during last two and a half years. He said all laws regarding regulatory bodies would be got passed from the Parliament.
