Diyat money reduced by Rs 250,000
OnlineISLAMABAD: Government has fixed diyat money at Rs 1,923,843 for the current fiscal year, reducing it by Rs 250,000. Government has issued a notification on this count. As per this notification the diyat money was fixed at Rs 2,176,577 last year. The diyat money has been reduced in the wake of fall in the price of silver. Price of 30,630 gram silver is set as yardstick for determination of diyat money. Government is entitled to fix diyat money under section 323 of CRPC.
