ECP provides Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers to PTI

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has provided the attested copies of the nomination papers submitted by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday.

Two PTI leaders and Members of National Assembly, Ali Muhammad Khan and Muraad Saeed, had requested the ECP to provide them with the copies of Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers.

In their petition, they had stated that Nawaz Sharif concealed facts in his nomination papers therefore he is not ‘Sadiq' and 'Ameen' (honest and righteous).

The petitioners alleged that he left the country after striking a deal with Pervez Musharraf. Furthermore, he received political bribe in Asghar Khan case and was also involved in Mehran bank scam scandal.

The ECP handed over the copies of PM’s nomination form to the PTI lawmakers after reviewing their request.

It may be mentioned that PTI had filed a petition in the ECP seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as a Member of National Assembly on July 09, 2014.
