Argentina donates water purifiers for IDPs

ISLAMABAD: Argentinean Ambassador Rodolfo J Martin Saravia has donated several boxes of water purification tablets for the displaced people of North Waziristan.
These tables are enough to purify two million litre of water. The donation has been made by the Argentinean government through the international humanitarian organisation White Helmets, which is one of the biggest social welfare organisation of Argentina, and assists during natural or man-made disasters and socio-economic crises, employing volunteer work and managing international financial support.
“The government of Argentina, with the support of said organisation and with the participation of Argentina embassy, wanted to assure that we are and will be always present to assist, help and to comfort the Pakistani people,” Ambassador Saravia said. He appreciated the efforts of the government of Pakistan, saying it is not only committed to reducing the sufferings of the displaced people but also making efforts to assure their safe return to their homes as soon as possible. The ambassador, on behalf of the government and people of Argentina, wished a peaceful future and a sustainable long-term development in Pakistan.
