Security beefed up in the city as Eid shopping reaches its peak

PESHAWAR: The security has been beefed up across provincial metropolis as Eid shopping reaches to its peak and the people throng to the local markets for the Eid shopping.
For ensuring foolproof security measures, extra police force is being deployed at various busiest and sensitive places in the city to avert any untoward situation on Eidul Fitr, an official of the police said. With just a day left, the shopping for the festival has reached to its climax as the people throng to markets and bazaars with their families to give final touches to their preparations. As the number of shoppers is increasing, the task of the local police has become more difficult as the police would have to be more vigilant to maintain peace, and law and order situation across the city and in other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa.
The main attraction is for the children who always endeavour to have a unique and elegant look from their peers, but they are never satisfied untill chand raat and keep on demanding different things that compels their parents to take them to the bazaar to keep them happy by buying things of their own choices. A father of three Inamullah, said that the pleasant weather and the weekend also left no option for him to refuse his children who were constantly asking him to take them to market for the last one week. “The children are so excited of to buy things of their own choices while my wife also took advantage and gave me a list of the grocery items for cooking different dishes on the three days of Eid,” Inamullah added.
Sonia, a five-year-old girl said, “I am looking for some unique style artificial jewellery, bangles, and yes, some gift packs for my friends.” “I love my father the most who took us to the bazaar,” little Ihsan said. A college student Aroosa, who recently passed her first year exam said, “This Eid brought more happiness as I got success in my exam with good numbers.” She said that her friends and cousins would visit her at her home so she wants to wear a fantastic and outclass stuff. “I’m little choosy in buying things, that is why it took me four long hours to do shopping,” she added. Aroosa’s mother, while talking to the media personnel said, “I am just accompanying ny daughter for her shopping, besides I also selected some things for our home, like new bed sheets, decoration pieces and above all food stuff, as being elder sister all my sisters and brothers, and their children come to our home on every Eid. It will be a great fun all together,” she said.
Usman Khan, a government employ said that almost all the government employees got their pay in advance, so there is no excuse left for him to postpone the Eid shopping anymore as Eid is the name of happiness and all the family members have the right to buy new things for themselves.
Huge rush was witnessed at the markets since morning where women were mostly seen busy in purchasing jewellery, cosmetics, hand bags, shoes, and house hold items, while the young boys and men were busy in buying shoes and readymade garments. According to the police control, the special directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa government, the security had been beefed up to maintain peace, and law and order situation across KP, as additional security staff including police force, headed by magistrates have been deputed at all the busiest places, including bazaars and shopping malls. The police force has been put on high alert and vigilance to ensure foolproof security of mosques during prayers.
