Sadiq questions credibility of leader who speaks lie

ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly, Ayaz Sadiq has said that Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution do not make a distinction between ‘lie’ and a ‘political statement’.

Commenting on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s statement who declared ’35 Punctures’ allegations a political statement, Ayaz Sadiq said, Article 62 and 63 speak about honesty and truth. He questioned the credibility of the leader who speaks lie.

The speaker went on to say that these articles should be invoked if any body is found guilty of speaking a lie.

Sadiq criticized Imran Khan, saying that he would make Khan accountable on doomsday for mudslinging at him.

Following the return of PTI parliamentarians in the National Assembly, no reason is left behind to halt their salaries, the speaker clarified, however, he said if Imran wants to return the money of the masses instead of giving it to Shaukat Khanum Hospital, he can do so.
