ECP summons asset details from all political parties
INPISLAMABAD - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned asset details from all political parties across the country.
Political parties which fail to submit their asset details with the commission will not be eligible to participate in the next elections.
According to a statement released on Monday, the ECP has given deadline till August 29 to political parties to submit their asset details for the fiscal year 2014-2015.
The ECP has made it clear that details would have to be submitted manually. Asset details that are sent via fax, courier or by regular post will not be accepted.
Parties failing to submit their details will be barred from contesting elections. According to the ECP records, there are at least 307 registered political parties in the country.
