Nisar directs NADRA to develop central data bank mechanism of ECL
INPISLAMABAD - Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to assist maintaining a central data bank of the Exit Control List (ECL) to streamline the system.
Chairing a meeting here in Islamabad on Monday, the interior minister asked NADRA to extend its services and expertise towards devising an online mechanism for the registration of international non-government organisations (INGOs).
He said in future nobody would be put on ECL without proper justification, and nobody would be allowed to remain on ECL for an unlimited time. The minister also chaired a meeting to review progress made so far on mega corruption cases including Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), Hajj Scam, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), New Airport, Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).
