ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif left here Monday on a three-day official visit to Norway to represent Pakistan at the Oslo Summit on Education for Development.

The prime minister's visit to Oslo is at the invitation of Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg. This is a first official visit by a Pakistani leader to Norway in over a decade. A statement from the PM House said the prime minister will address the Education Summit and interact with several world leaders during his stay. The visit will help in strengthening the existing bilateral ties between Pakistan and Norway.

He would also hold delegation level talks with his Norwegian counterpart and meet Crown Prince of Norway Haakon Magnus. The meetings would provide him an opportunity to discuss bilateral as well as global and regional issues with the Norwegian leadership, the statement said.
