NAB has started playing with honour of political leadership: Pervaiz
INP

ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has taken strong exception to the report presented in the Supreme Court regarding 150 mega corruption cases by National Accountability Bureau (NAB), saying it (NAB) was constituted to root out corruption from the society, but it has started playing with the honour of the political leadership.

Talking to newsmen outside the Parliament House on Wednesday, Pervaiz Rashid said that NAB authorities should be prosecuted in case of failure to prove any case filed by it against anyone. He recalled that politically-motivated fake cases had been constituted against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar during Pervez Musharraf’s regime.

He said a fake case had been constituted against Nawaz Sharif regarding alleged construction of an illegal road in 1999, and after passage of 15 years the NAB has failed to put up the case in the court of law. The information minister stated that the said road, a university and a trust hospital was serving millions of people.

He said the objective behind the report presented in the apex court was to malign the political leadership in the country. He said NAB had utterly failed to wipe out corruption from the face of society.
