PML-N demands dams’ details from ex-rulers

LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Member of Punjab Assembly Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri has asked former deputy prime minister Parvaiz Elahi to tell first how many dams he constructed and what role he played for the construction of the mega Kalabagh Dam during his era.

On Friday, Elahi asked the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to construct the Kalabagh Dam for prosperity and to ensure safety from floods. He called the Kalabagh Dam a permanent solution of overcoming electricity crisis, water shortage for irrigation and losses of human lives, crops and properties in all four provinces every year.

MPA Zaeem Qadri said that Elahi was completely powerful during the government of then president Pervez Musharraf and if he wants, he can construct the Kalabagh Dam. He said that it would be better if Elahi and his party forced dictator to construct dams for protecting Pakistan from devastation of flood.
