LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed his desire to build an international standard theme park in Lahore.

He was heading a high-level meeting in the provincial capital on beautification projects for cities in Punjab. During the meeting, the chief minister approved installing art works at public places to enhance the overall beauty of the surroundings.

The beautification initiatives stem from the chief minister’s desire to provide better recreational facilities to the public. Other projects that were approved during the meeting include construction of a walking and cycling track along the Lahore Branch Canal that runs up to Wagah as well as the construction of an international standard theme park at the Iqbal Park.

The beautification process will first focus on Lahore and will then be expanded to other divisional headquarters of Punjab.
