Salman Ahmad asked to leave Pakistan due to fears

Ex-Vital Signs member says terrorists can hit him anytime, anywhere

KARACHI: Salman Ahmad, former member of dissolved iconic music band Vital Signs, has been advised by the police to leave Pakistan due to threat to his life for working relentlessly to eradicate polio.

‘Ghoom Tana’ lead voice refused to ‘run away’ after threats for trying to make this country a better place. In an interview, Salman revealed that a police officer advised him to leave Pakistan as he could be fatally targeted by terrorists. The police officer said that the department has credible information in the matter, he said.

It should be noted here that dozens of anti-polio workers have been killed while on duty in different parts of the country so far and despite police and other law enforcement agencies’ assurance, they work in constant threat especially in Sindh.

On the other hand, the paramilitary forces raided the Sindhi Hotel in Liaquatabad and arrested three target killers. The ranger’s sources said that the target killers belong to a political party. On the other hand, two persons involved in street crimes were arrested by the police after a gun fire in injured condition in Awami Colony.
