Shahbaz telephones Saudi ambassador, Turkish president

CM says terrorism incidents in the holy month of Ramadan are strongly condemnable; the enemy has attacked at the heart of the Muslim Ummah

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday telephoned Saudi Ambassador in Pakistan and strongly condemned blasts in Madina, Jeddah and Qatif.

He also paid tributes to the sacrifices of security officials who embraced martyrdom in the incidents. Talking to Saudi Ambassador, Shahbaz Sharif said that these blasts were deplorable and tantamount to attack on the Muslim community.

He said, “The whole Muslim Ummah is deeply shocked and grieved over this attack, however, due to the grace of Allah Almighty and timely action of security personnel, the heinous conspiracy of the brutal elements could not succeed.”

The chief minister said that the suicide attack outside Masjid-e-Nabvi (PBUH) has exposed the evil designs of the enemy. He further said that sympathies of the people of Pakistan were with the Saudi government and people.

Shahbaz Sharif also prayed for the early recovery of the injured. He said that the incident of terrorism in the holy month of Ramadan was strongly condemnable, adding that the enemy had attacked the heart of the Muslim Ummah.

Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday telephoned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Mayor Istanbul Kadir Topas and strongly condemned blasts at Ataturk Airport, Istanbul.

The chief minister expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives. He said that the people of Pakistan equally shared the grief of their Turk brethren.

Shahbaz Sharif said that terrorism had become an international issue and collective efforts were needed to deal with this menace as terrorists had no religion and were worst enemy of humanity.
