PM condemns Burhan Wani’s killing in Indian held Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Shrif on Monday expressed deep shock at the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani and many other civilians in occupied Jammu & Kashmir by the Indian security forces.

“Deplorable that excessive and unlawful force was used against the civilians who were protesting against the killing of Burhan Wani,” said Nawaz Shairf.

In a statement, he said massacre of citizens by Indian forces and use of brutal force against Kashmiris is regrettable.

The Prime Minister urged India to respect human rights in Occupied Kashmir.

Nawaz Sharif said unarmed Kashmiris cannot be deterred from their rightful struggle for self-determination on gunpoint.

He said right to self-determination is just demand of Kashmiris in the light of UN resolutions.

He called on India to fulfill its commitment to hold plebiscite in Kashmir to ascertain will of the people for their future alignment with either Pakistan or India.

Nawaz Sharif also expressed concerns over continued house arrest of Kashmiri leaders.
