Police gets Waseem Akhtar physical remand till Monday
KARACHI: The court of administrative judge of anti-terrorism courts in Karachi on Thursday handed over Wassem Akkhtar, leader of MQM, to police on physical remand till Monday.
The police produced him handcuffed before the court seeking his physical remand.
Waseem Akhtar’s bail plea was also turned down after his application, in Dr Asim Hussain terror facilitation case, attracted an objection from the court.
Earlier the SHC rejected bail application of Pak Sarzameen Party leader Anees Qaimkhani and ordered him to contact the trial court in this regard.
Police arrested Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders Waseem Akhtar, Rauf Siddiqui, and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Anis Qaimkhani on Tuesday after an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi rejected their bail pleas in the Dr Asim Hussain case.
