Sarwar says PTI not against democracy

Ex-governor says his party stands against unconstitutional ways

By: Online

LAHORE: Former Punjab governor and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that their movement is against the corruption and not against the democracy in Pakistan.

He said that his party would end the protests only on acceptance of the opposition’s Terms of Reference (ToRs) for the judicial commission and it doesn’t believe in unconstitutional ways to form the government as the party would rather come to power with the public support and their votes.

“Imran Khan would become the Prime Minister of Pakistan through ballot only,” the former governor explained while warning the government against refusing the opposition’s demands on ToRs.

He further said that the PML-N government was trying to befool the nation by playing the democracy card. He said the people were aware of these old tactics of the incumbent government and would not fall prey to them again.
