World Hepatitis Day to be marked on Thursday

KARACHI: The World hepatitis Day will be marked here on Thursday. The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) has chalked out an elaborate programme on the day for public education and awareness.

An official of the SIUT said on Wednesday that the programme would be conducted from 9am to 4pm at SIUT, 5th Floor, Hanifa Suleman Dawood Oncology Centre. A team of doctors and specialist will be present at SIUT to provide expert advice to public at large and carry out free medical tests, consultation and vaccination.

The Aga Khan University Hospital will also organize an awareness session at its auditorium from 2:30pm to 5pm. The theme would be "Let's eliminate Hepatitis". A question and answer session would also be the part of the programme.

The Patel Hospital Karachi will hold a free screening camp for Hepatitis B and C at its premises from 10am to 2pm. An official of the Hospital said that a Continue Medical Education (CME) session will also be organized on Friday. The topic of the moot would be "Knowledge, prevention and cure of Hepatitis".
