Amjad Sabri did not have any enemies: Sarwat Sabri

KARACHI: Brother of slain qawwali legend Amjad Sabri stated that his brother did not have enmity with anyone, as preparations were being made to bury the famous singer.

While talking to media, his brother Sarwat Sabri said that Amjad did not have enmity with anyone.

"He was one of those people for whom many people in this locality were willing to be bodyguards," he said.

Sarwat Sabri also demanded the government to arrest the killers of his brother and improve the overall law and order situation of the country.

"I want the government to take care of the overall situation of the law and order of the country," he said. "Today, the common man does not know whether he will be able to live the next moment or not," he added.

Amjad Sabri's mother also spoke to Geo News and disclosed that before her son had departed for the last time, he had told her he would be back home early. Five minutes later, she said, they got to know he had been shot.

Amjad Sabri's mother said she was clueless as to who would killer her son when he was a man who did not harm anyone.

Sabri had been shot to death in Karachi's Liaquatabad area on Wednesday as he was on his way to the studio of a private news channel. Two assailants on motorcycle opened fire on his vehicle, causing him to die on the spot.

The murder drew condemnations from people from all walks of life in Pakistan and abroad as well.
