DG Rangers presides over high-level meeting on Karachi's security situation

KARACHI: DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar presided over a high-level meeting in which the security situation of the city was discussed at length.

The meeting was held one day after the murder of prominent qawwal Amjad Sabri in Karachi, where he was gunned down in the city's Liaquatabad area. Three days earlier, Owais Ali Shah, son of the Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was also kidnapped.

During the meeting, it was decided to launch an offensive against the terrorists who were harming the peace of the city via an unbiased operation.

After concluding his meeting, DG Rangers met Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the CM House for a meeting. The Chief Minister directed DG Rangers to step up the Karachi operation and hunt down terrorists responsible for the murder of Amjad Sabri.

Police on Thursday also obtained CCTV footage from Sabri's residence. The sketch of the suspect was also released by the police on Wednesday.
