There’s no room for terrorists in MQM, says Altaf

KARACHI: Following a brazen raid at the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters Nine-Zero here on Wednesday, party chief Altaf Hussain said that he has made it clear in the past as well there is no room for terrorists among the party folds.

Speaking to his supporters gathered outside his residence in Azizabad after the raid, in which several suspects were arrested including the alleged murderer of journalist Wali Khan Babar, he said those who committed mistakes should have hid somewhere else.

“They shouldn't have put the Nine-Zero and the majority into trouble… if they wanted a sanctuary to hide then they should have gone anywhere in the whole wide world,” said the MQM chief.

“Look at me, after all I am living in England for the last 25 years and running the movement from here,” he added.

Following the raid at MQM headquarters, a press release was issued by Rangers with details of arrests made. According to the press release, Nadir (convicted and sentenced 13 years), Faisal Moto (involved in the murder of Wali Khan), Amir, Farhan Shabbir alias Mullah and Ubaid K2 were apprehended.
