Raid on MQM center 'regrettable': Zardari

KARACHI – Former president Asif Ali Zardari has expressed ‘deep regrets’ over raid on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarter Nine-Zero by Rangers.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain contacted Zardari over the phone and briefed him about the raid on the MQM headquarters and subsequent arrests. Zardari said that the MQM is a major party of Pakistan and that the raid on the MQM center is condemnable. He said that everyone should respect the sanctity of political parties’ offices.
A heavy contingent of Rangers personnel arrested several suspects during raid on MQM chief Altaf’s residence and Khursheed Begum Secretariat in Azizabad area of the metropolis.
