SHC seeks reply till March 24 in MQM’s missing workers case

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed Ministry of Interior, DG Rangers and Inspector General Police (IGP) to submit reply till March 24 over Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s missing workers.

In the petition, filed by MQM Rabitta Committee member Gul Faraz Khan, it is pleaded that 110 people were picked during Rangers raid at party’s headquarters Nine-Zero, however, 24 of them were still not produced in the court.

The petitioner also prayed for medical checkup of the party workers and their meeting with the families as well.

The court, while taking action on the plea, directed DG Rangers, IGP and Ministry of Interior to submit reply till March 24.

Talking to media outside the SHC, MQM leader Barrister Saif alleged that the accused were being tortured during investigation and forced to confess the crime.

He also said that his party will move court for registration of FIR of MQM’s slain worker Waqas Ali Shah, who was mysteriously killed during raid at Nine Zero.
