No body is above law, says Sindh CM

LARKANA: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that action against terrorists is being taken under the constitution and nobody is above the law.

Army, judiciary and other legislative institutions are constitutional and everyone must respect them, he said while talking to media after laying flower wreaths and offering prayers at the graves of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, Begum Nusrat Bhutto and other Bhutto leaders at Bhutto graveyard in Garhi Khuda Bux on Sunday where he came to review the arrangements pertaining to commemoration of 36th death anniversary of PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto which is being observed annually on 4th April. Shah said that Sindh government has full support of army and federal government and that’s why it is working in close cooperation with rangers and police to maintain peace in Karachi. He said on the demand of the people, total powers have been delegated to Rangers and police to conduct operation in Karachi against terrorists. “Now we can say that law & order situation is better in Sindh,” he claimed. He said that those who used to say that there was no writ of the government in Sindh must see that people in Karachi are now walking freely up to 3 am in the night. Shah said that dialogue continued for one and half year and political parties were consulted to bring back peace in Karachi and all of them gave their consent to give powers to rangers, police and army to conduct operation in Karachi and with their consent operation was started. “Apex Committee is working in all the provinces and concerned chief ministers are their heads and in Sindh, while he is leading it like other Chief Ministers of the provinces where all the decisions are made unanimously.” CM condemned the Lahore bomb blasts in Churches and expressed his grief & deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives. He said that terrorism has not ended as yet and it is continuing adding that it should not only be condemned with verbally only but people will have to support all the institutions which are working closely to eliminate terrorist and bringing back peace & tranquillity in the country. Shah further said that PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari will certainly address the gathering on 4th April but he is not sure whether Chairman Bilwal Bhutto Zardari will take part or not.
