Main accused in PTI leader Zahra Shahid murder case arrested

KARACHI: The main accused in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zahra Shahid’s murder case has been apprehended, claimed the Rangers spokesman on Wednesday.

According to the spokesman, the suspect Kaleem, was arrested near Teen Talwar (Three Swords) in Karachi’s Clifton area.

The Rangers also recovered weapons from Kaleem’s possession.

Kaleem who has now been handed over to the police is also involved in several other murders.

However, an MQM spokesperson claimed today that Kaleem was arrested from his tailoring shop on February 25.

According to the spokesperson, Kaleem’s mother filed a petition on Feb 26 in Sindh High Court (SHC) against his arrest.

The PTI Sindh senior vice president, Zahra Shahid Hussain, was gunned down in Karachi on May 18, 2013.

According to reports, unidentified gunmen shot her outside her residence in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase IV.
