Convicts of heinous crimes to be brought to justice: PM

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that there was no space for terrorism in Pakistan and the criminals convicted in heinous crimes would be brought to justice.

Talking to MNAs of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) here at the PM House, the prime minister said that there was no justification for anyone in Pakistan to keep illegal weapons. About the operation against terrorists and miscreants in Karachi, the prime minister said that peace and stability of Pakistan’s commercial hub was in the interest of all. He said that the Karachi operation was launched after taking all political parties into confidence. He said that situation in Karachi had considerably improved since the start of the operation and incidents of kidnapping for ransom, extortion money and target killing had reduced. He said that the government was facing big challenges and was tackling these through effective policies. However, he said that backlog of past several years could not be fixed through a magic wand. “We must make ourselves stronger. I wish to resolve major challenges faced by Pakistan before the next general elections,” he said.
