Outgoing air chief pays farewell call on president, PM

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt on Wednesday paid a farewell call on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Presidency.

The president lauded the services rendered by the outgoing chief of air staff for the defence of country and in transforming Pakistan Air Force into a more vibrant force.

The president also wished the outgoing chief of air staff good health, success and happiness in his future life.

Separately, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt paid farewell call on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the PM’s House.

The prime minister felicitated him on the successful completion of his career and wished him the best in future, a PM’s Office statement said issued here. The air chief thanked the prime minister for taking keen interest in matters related to Pakistan Air Force.

Meanwhile, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt paid a farewell call on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah at Naval Headquarters on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah commended the remarkable services of Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt during his tenure as air chief, said a press release issued on Wednesday.

Admiral Zakaullah said that Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt played a dynamic role to enhance the operational capabilities of Pakistan Air Force and its transformation into a modern air force equipped with state of the art equipment and highly professional manpower.

He also appreciated the contribution of Pakistan Air Force in Zarb-e-Azb. On the occasion, the air chief marshal thanked Admiral Zakaullah for the wholehearted support offered by Pakistan Navy and expressed his gratitude and well wishes for Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zakaullah and Pakistan Navy.
