PM calls for early implementation of CPEC projects

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday directed a preparatory meeting for the 4th Pakistan-China Joint Cooperation Commission (JCC) to work beyond the call of duty for early implementation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

Chairing the Joint Cooperation Commission meeting scheduled to take place in Beijing on March 25, the prime minister stressed the need of thorough preparation by concerned ministries for discussions during the JCC meeting. The prime minister was given presentation on projects mainly relating to energy and infrastructure development that are part of CPEC and would come under discussion during the upcoming JCC meeting. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, and Secretaries of the Ministries of Water and Power, Petroleum, Planning and Communication along with other senior government officials.
