Chinese leaders extend warm greetings on Pakistan Day

ISLAMABAD – Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang on Monday extended messages of congratulations to President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Pakistan Day.

“On the auspicious occasion of the Pakistan Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, I would like to extend, on behalf of the Chinese government and people as well as in my own name, warm congratulations and good wishes to the Pakistani government and people,” President Xi Jinping said in the message.

He stressed that Pakistan and China were good neighbours, close friends, trusted partners and dear brothers. “Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have set up all-weather friendship and carried out all-round cooperation, which has brought concrete benefits to the two countries and two peoples, as well as promoted the regional and international peace, stability and development.”

He said that he attached great importance to the development of Pak-China relations, and stood ready to work along with the Pakistani side to deepen the connotation of Pak-China Community of Shared Destiny. PM Li Keqiang, in his message, said, "Pakistan is China's close and friendly neighbouring country and all-weather strategic cooperative partner.

" Pak-China relationship has withstood the test of time and become a model of harmonious coexistence and friendly cooperation among different countries. “The Chinese government has always viewed and developed the Pak-China relationship from a strategic and long-term perspective, and would like to work along with the Pakistani side to push forward the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and promote the Pak-China strategic cooperative partnership.”

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also extended a message of congratulations to Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on the day.
