Power shortfall reaches 4,600MW

ISLAMABAD: As temperature continues to rise with each passing day, the electricity shortfall has reached 4,600 megawatts (MW) across the country, with many rural areas witnessing load shedding of up to 15 hours. Official sources confirmed that due to the growing demand, a total of nine-hour load shedding in cities and 15-hour in rural areas in being observed. The country’s total electricity demand is 15,100MW against a total production of 10,500MW, widening the demand and supply gap to 4,600MW.
