Australian FM visits GHQ, calls upon COAS
RAWALPINDI: Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop visited General Head Quarters (GHQ) on Thursday and called upon Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest including defence and security cooperation between both countries came under discussion.
The Australian FM appreciated the successes of Operation Zarb-e-Azb as well as sacrifices rendered by Pakistani security forces.
She also appreciated Pakistani security forces’ efforts towards regional stability.
Later today, General John F Campbell, ISAF commander called on the COAS at the GHQ.
According to the ISPR, the two discussed Pak-Afghan border coordination and the overall security situation in the region.
