No additional ballot papers printed after May 7th: Ex-Punjab Election Commissioner

ISLAMABAD: Ex-Punjab Election Commissioner Mehboob Anwar on Monday told the Judicial Commission that no printing press was ordered to print additional ballot papers after May 7th 2013.

Anwar was responding to questions by Election Commission’s lawyer Salman Akram Raja during the Judicial Commission.

He said that the ballot papers were printed as ordered before May 7th and were transported to constituencies concerned under the supervision of the Pakistan Army.

While responding to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz counsel Shahid Hamid’s questions, the witness said Election Commission staff was present at the Printing Press during the process against whom no complaint was received.

He said that election material was dispatched to all the constituencies by May 10th, adding that deadline of May 5th for the printing of ballot papers was not part of election schedule.

Anwar further said that no complaint was received against 36 District Election Commissioners in Punjab.
