PM summons report on Karachi bus attack

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack on a bus of the Ismaili community in Karachi in which 45 people were killed.
Taking notice of the attack the prime minister has summoned a report from the Interior Ministry.

The Interior Minister has sought details of the attack from the IGP Sindh and DG Rangers.

The attack has drawn widespread condemnation from both political and religious leaders.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan tweeted that he was stunned and grieved at the most condemnable terror attack in Karachi on ordinary citizens of Pakistan belonging to a most peaceful community.

The attack was also condemned b y President Mamnoon Hussain, Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah while Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has canceled a pre-scheduled three day visit to Sri Lanka.

The Tahafuz-e-Azadar has announced a day of mourning against the bus attack.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the attack in Karachi in deeply saddening and utterly condemnable and thoughts and prayers were with the families of the deceased. “We stand firmly with the people of Pakistan in this hour of grief. I wish all those injured a quick recovery.”
