Agha Khan terms Karachi attack a senseless act of violence

KARACHI: Prince Karim Agha Khan, Spiritual leader of Ismaili community, has expressed profound grief over the terrorist attack on a bus that killed 45 people Wednesday.

Six gunmen on three motorcycles targeted a bus carrying members of the Ismaili community near Karachi’s Safoora Chowrangi.

“This attack represents a senseless act of violence against a peaceful community. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and the families of those killed and wounded in the attack,” a press release by the Aga Khan Development Network quoted him as saying.

He said Ismailis were living peacefully with people of all the religions, ethnicities in Muslim world and other countries.

He added that leaders of the community were taking part in assistance for those affected by the Karachi tragedy.

Chief of the Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif contacted the prince and expressed sorrow over the incident.
