Imran reiterates need to depoliticise Karachi police

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday reiterated that the police in Karachi needs to be depoliticised.

Speaking to reporters here, he stressed that the Rangers were not a permanent solution to the Karachi problem.

“The Rangers can only solve the Karachi problem for a little while. The police needs to be depolitised and appointments need to be made on merit.”

Imran Khan complained that the government was not distributing funds justly and announced the start of the finance award in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Khan had to pull out of his scheduled visit to Karachi on Thursday in the wake of the attack on the Ismaili community due to bad weather in the federal capital.

At least 46 people were killed when gunmen attacked a bus of the Ismaili community near Safoora Chowrangi on Wednesday.
