NewsCertain mindset opposes devolution powers: Senate Chairman
LAHORE: Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani has said a certain mindset is opposed to devolution of powers to federating unit under 18th Constitutional amendment.
Addressing participants of a media course organized by Council of Newspapers Editors, the PPP stalwart said article six has failed in defending the parliament and the constitution as “everybody has seen its fate”.
“People would not come to defend the Constitution until they are not associated with it,” he added.
The Senate Chairman said those who called for provincial autonomy were declared traitors despite the fact that education and health sectors were under federation that failed in improving rate of literacy and providing medicines”.
