PM approves marriage grant enhancement

ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister, on a Summary moved by the Establishment Division, has approved enhancement in the amount of marriage grant from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 100,000 for one orphan daughter of federal government employees, who die after retirement.

Necessary amendment in the FEB & GIF Rules, 1972 is being made.

Recently, the Board of Trustees doubled the amount of monthly Benevolent Grant for the families of those employees who die during service in a security related incident, says a press statement issued here on Thursday.

Besides, a special lump sum grant ranging from Rs. 200,000 to Rs. 500,000 (grade- wise) has approved other than amount of sum assured, i.e. up to maximum of one million rupees paid during service death of an employee.

The FEB & GIF is a self-contributory group scheme recouped by nominal contributions from the employees, covered under the FEBF & GI, Act 1969.

The basic function of the Funds as mentioned in the permeable of the Act 1969 is to provide financial assistance in the form of Benevolent Grant, Sum Assured and Burial charges to the bereaved families of the deceased Federal Government employees and a lump sum amount and Monthly Benevolent Grant to an incapacitated employee.

The Board of Trustees continually reviews its policies and benefits provided to the Federal Government employees keeping in view the financial resources of the Funds.
