Media asked to inform people about ‘Panama names’

SHEIKHUPURA: Federal Minister for Defence Production and Science and Technology Rana Tanvir Hussain has said that the government is spending billions of rupees to provide basic facilities to people, especially in the fields of health and education.

Talking to journalists here on Friday, he said that the government was providing all facilities to the new generation to make progress through getting quality education. He said the target of a fast-paced progress could only be achieved through education promotion and making a healthy society.

He said spending billions of rupees by the government for completion of development projects was unprecedented in the history of Pakistan. He added opponents of the government were only creating hurdles in the way of Pakistan’s development.

Tanvir said when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif came to power in 2013 Pakistan was passing through serious crisis. However, the federal government, in collaboration with the Punjab government, launched a number of power projects which would end electricity shortage soon

The minister said the PML-N government was fulfilling all promises it had made with the people during the election campaign. In reply to a question, he said electronic and print media should gain all information about Panama Papers and inform people about those whose names had appeared in the leaks.

He said the PML-N government would complete its term and the opponents would have to face humiliation. He said the government and the army were on one page in the war against terrorism, and they would not take rest till elimination of all terrorists from the country.

Earlier, the minister along with Punjab Parliamentary Secretary Pir Ashraf Rasool, PML-N district president Arif Khan Sindhila, District Ushar and Zakat Committee Chairman and PML-N Labour Wing Punjab President Syed Mushtaq Hussain Shah visited the passport office here. The minister announced to double the staff, computer system and a separate counter for women in the office.
