Panama leaks is not an international issue: Khursheed Shah

SUKKUR: Leader of the Opposition, Syed Khursheed Shah stated that the Panama leaks issue was not a national one but an international one.

Speaking to media personnel outside his residence in Sukkur, Shah hoped that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his team would find a solution to the Panama leaks issue.

"When problems are not solved in the parliament, then the people are left with no choice but to take to the streets to protest," he said.

He also stated that opposition parties wanted to adopt the path of political negotiations. Khursheed Shah made it clear that political parties wished to return to the public in a transparent manner and for that very purpose, they would not cause any chaos.

Khursheed Shha further disclosed that the parliamentary committee formed to draft the terms of reference would sit in a day or two to start their work. He further elaborated that if any positive contribution provided by the government or opposition, would be included.

"Some people will definitely try to take advantage of the current crisis. However, I am hopeful that the Prime Minister and his team will find a better solution. Whether it be Khursheed Shah, Nawaz Sharif or Imran Khan, everyone will have to deal with the terms of reference," he stated.
