Sindh asks centre to keep mobile services off on Moharram 8-10
KARACHI: Sindh Home Department on Saturday requested the federal government to have the cellular phone service suspended for three days – Moharram 8 to 10 – in five districts including Karachi.
In what appears to be a part of the security plan to maintain order during Moharram processions, the Sindh Home Department has asked the centre to keep the mobile phone services off during the time of mourning processions in 5 districts.
The five districts for which the request has been made are: Karachi, Hyderabad, Khairpur, Sukkur and Larkana.
