‘Pakistan, India bound to resolve Kashmir’
Javed says India never reciprocate Pakistan’s sincerity

BERLIN – Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany Syed Hasan Javed has said that Pakistan has been pursuing a policy of peaceful relations with all its neighbours including India.

Unfortunately, Pakistan’s sincerity has not been reciprocated by the Indian leadership, he said while addressing a seminar and a book launching ceremony organised by the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy here. India’s unprovoked firing at the Line of Control (LOC) and the Working Boundary has resulted in the death of more than a dozen innocent people, he pointed out.

Ambassador Javed said that the solution of the Kashmir issue as per the UN Security Council resolutions was a binding on both Pakistan and India and was a key to durable regional peace in particular and world peace at large; the aspirations of the people of Kashmir for self-determination and the struggle for their basic rights could not be suppressed for a long-time.

Zerb-e-Azb going on successfully

He informed the audience about various steps being taken by the government in the field of education and to eliminate terrorism and militancy from the society. He said that the Pakistan Army launched Zerb-e-Azb military operation against militants in the North Waziristan and other tribal areas in June this year and it was going on successfully.

Earlier, the ambassador launched the book – Biting the Silver Bullet – by Rana Ather Javed – a Pakistani journalist and writer. The book, written in the backdrop of a long drawn Afghan crises and terrorism is a compilation of analytical articles on security, Pakistan-US relations, Afghanistan, terrorism and NATO. It highlights the role and sacrifices made by various Pakistani institutions against terrorism and militancy.

Ather - the author- said that Pakistan became a victim of terrorism for the support it extended to the US and its Western allies against former Russian occupation of Afghanistan. The people of Pakistan and its various institutions with meager resources faced the consequences all alone valiantly and showed tremendous resilience, he added.
