NAROWAL/LAHORE: Federal Minister for Development, Planning and Reform Ahsan Iqbal has said that the politics of dharnas (sit-in) is economic terrorism as these are causing severe setback to farmers, labourers and exporters.
The minister said this while talking to journalists on Monday. He said that sit-in at Islamabad was inflicting losses running into billions of rupees on the national economy. He noted that Imran Khan was afraid of general elections in 2018 because several development projects would stand completed till that time “giving boost to the popularity of PML-N”. Iqbal observed that Indian Prime Minister Modi, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and other international institutions had hailed Pakistan’s performance during the last year and according to them it was heading in the right direction. “The positive image of the country had been harmed by Imran Khan’s illogical behaviour”, he alleged.
“Roshan Pakistan or new Pakistan will become possible only when we face the challenges in unison. Government is beefing up the economy by pursuing national agenda of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif,” he added.
While addressing Narowal District Bar Association, the minister accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of indulging in negative politics. He said that Imran Khan should make a new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) before making a new Pakistan.
