Pervez Khattak for unity of humanity

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Monday said that Karbala incident has taught the lesson to demonstrate spirit of love and unity, support the truth and reject lie.
In his message on Muharram 10, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister said that following these principles could not only keep us united and revive the glory of Muslims but could lay solid foundations for durable peace in Pakistan and the world at large.
He said that petty differences among various sects of Muslims were not new. However, he said that these differences fixed directions for various Muslims’ schools of thought to evolve their social fabrics. “The difference of opinions of my companions is a mercy for my Ummah,” Khattak quoted a statement of Holy Prophet (PBUH), adding that it was a sign of wisdom to promote knowledge rather than make it a bone of contention among various sects of Muslims.
He appealed the nation to follow teachings of Imam Hussain (RA) and hence celebrate the day of Ashura in a manner that unites the Muslim Ummah, adding that the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imam Hussain (RA) guided a human to forge unity for success and prosperity of the entire mankind.
Chief Minister Khattak said that peace was a national and global need and hence it was need of the hour to maintain mutual harmony and fraternity among the Muslims, especially during the holy month of Muharram, adding that it was the duty of every Muslim to adhere to the true philosophy of Islam.
He asked the ulema to cooperate with the government to maintain peace and foil the nefarious design of miscreants.
“We must discharge our duties and maintain peace and unity as responsible citizens of a nation,” he added.
