RAHIM YAR KHAN - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has come out with an offer to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to form a commission under the Supreme Court to investigate rigging in the election and submit report within four to six weeks.

During this period, Nawaz can remain the prime minister and the PTI would continue with its sit-in, he said while addressing a rally here on Sunday. Imran said that an impartial person should be head of the commission to be decided by the prime minister and the PTI chairman.

He also said that if the commission comes out with the report that there had been rigging, the prime minister would have to resign. He said the commission should be formed till November 30. He said that if his offer was not accepted, he would give a new course of action and whatever the loss, it would be due to the prime minister.

He said that it was their right to demand justice. He said that if elections were held after the commission report, it should be under a new election commission because he and his party have no trust in the present election commissioners and they should resign.

He asked former chief justice of Pakistan justice (retired) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani that they have “no trust in you and you should not accept the post of CEC.” He declared that they should not accept the Election Commission which is not composed of neutral people.

He said that he was staging sit-ins for the people because if the rigging was not stopped, there would never be free, fair and transparent election in Pakistan. He said that people have only the power of vote to give a lesson to the government.

Imran said that if they want to get out of poverty, “you will have to ensure that the sanctity of vote is respected and there is no rigging.” He said that was why he demanded recounting in four constituencies but the government did not budge. He said that he would keep the sit-in unless those who rigged the election were exposed.

Predicting early election in Pakistan, he said that he would not go with a begging bowl to IMF or the US as a self respecting leader never bows before any one. He said that he was the only political leader whom the nation trust. He said that when the people have faith that their tax money would be used for their welfare, the number of tax payers would go up from the present 8.5%.

According to the Transparency International, he said if the electricity theft was stopped, the tariff would come down to half. He said that was why he burnt his electricity bill because why should he pay for the thieves. He said that because of the poor governance, Pakistan Steel Mills suffered loss of Rs 125 billion, PIA Rs 200 billion.

The PTI chief said that the real opposition was coming from sit-inns and not from the parliament and they were raising the issues of corruption from the container.
