Imran’s demand of including MI, ISI in commission ‘strange’: PM
LONDON: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan’s demand of including ISI and MI officials in the judicial commission to probe allegations of rigging in elections ‘strange.’
Speaking to reporters after arriving here from Germany, Prime Minister Sharif emphasised that this had not happened in the past nor would it happen in the future. “Military institutions should not be involved in politics.”
The prime minister told reporters he had written a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan to form the judicial commission and it was now up to him (chief justice) whether a commission would be formed or not.
Mr Sharif said China had not given a loan, rather had invested in Pakistan.
Earlier while addressing the Pakistani community in Berlin, Prime Minister Sharif said Pakistan’s problems could not be solved in one day and it would take a few years to resolve the energy crisis.
The prime minister further said work on the Karachi-Lahore motorway would begin in a few days.
