Individual verification of resignations necessary: KP Speaker
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker, Asad Qaiser who belongs to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday said it is necessary to individually verify the resignations of parliamentarians.
The KP Speaker in a statement said that if opposition MPAs had come to him, he would verify their resignations individually.
Qaiser’s statement highlights a difference in stance than that of his party MNAs who have maintained their resignations from the National Assembly should be verified collectively.
The issue of PTI MNA resignations has been deadlocked over the verification process. According to National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq the resignations have to be verified on an individual basis.
The same issue has also emerged over the resignation of PTI MPAs in Punjab.
