PUASA president, secretary lose confidence of teachers

LAHORE: Punjab University Academic Staff Association (PUASA) Acting Secretary Dr Mahboob Hussain has said that PUASA President Dr Ahsan Sharif and dysfunctional secretary Javed Sami have lost confidence of the teachers’ community and failed to protect their rights.
In a statement issued via official email of PUASA on Friday, Dr Mahboob said that 15 out of the 18 ASA executive members held a meeting and all the members unanimously passed a resolution against Javed Sami’s illegal activities and barred him from holding his office under article VII (4) of the PUASA constitution. “The executive council shall have the power to delegate any of its functions to a sub-committee or a person as may be determined by the council,” the statement quoted Dr Mahboob as saying.
