Imran has got ‘evidence’ of rigging in general election
* PTI chief says will present ‘proofs’ before masses at a press conference this week * Warns government of confrontation if any attempts made to thwart his Nov 30 rally

GUJRANWALA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Sunday that he would reveal “how rigging was done in the last year’s general elections”, saying he has evidence of it.
“We will first expose the rigging through a press conference, then we will decide whether or not to go to Supreme Court,” Imran said while addressing a mammoth gathering in Gujranwala. He warned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali against blocking his protest rally in the capital on November 30. He said that it was his democratic right to stage a peaceful protest, as his demand for a probe into the last year’s elections was not met.
“I am running out of patience now. I will confront if Nawaz Sharif and Chaudhry Nisar repeat August 30 violence on our peaceful protesters,” he warned. “As long as I am alive, I will keep fighting for my rights. I am not going anywhere without getting justice,” he affirmed. “On November 30, there will be a decisive battle between status quo and us. It will be decided on November 30 whether they win or we form a naya Pakistan,” the PTI chief said.
Imran stated that his protest sit-in in Islamabad was not because he wanted to become the prime minister, but to awaken the nation who, he stated, was hostage to the PML-N and PPP. Both PML-N and PPP leaders, he said, have their assets abroad but want others to bring investment in Pakistan. Imran said, on the other hand, he has declared his assets. “I had only demanded vote re-count in just four constituencies as I knew once the investigation was carried out, the PML-N government would be exposed,” he said.
Imran Khan asked who would be responsible if it was established after some time that the PML-N came into power through rigging. He said that the state institutions would be responsible for the “damages being caused by the PML-N government”. He called on Pakistanis not to let this opportunity to throw out the “corrupt system” go in vain. “If we don’t stand up now, our children will also become salve of their (rulers) children.” The PTI chief said that democracy was imperative for Pakistan. He lamented that the government was least bothered about the poor, farmers, vendors and religious minorities. “Politics is a business for the rulers.”
The PTI chief invited all political parties, trade unions, students and farmers to join his protest in the capital on November 30. “I invite the oppressed sections of society to join my protest.” The PTI chairman said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had given an affidavit stating that he laundered money for Nawaz Sharif. “If true, Nawaz must go to jail, and if not, Ishaq must be arrested,” he demanded.
He said that the only reason PML-N government was not willing to conduct local bodies elections is that it gives rights to public, which it does not want. Imran said no minister can run his business in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the new laws.
Earlier, he said that he was thankful to God “for waking up the nation”. “The nation has woken up for naya Pakistan”. “I’m very happy to read a letter from an 11-year-old, Safia, who wished me luck and said if I don’t fulfil my promise, she will protest. Nation has awakened.” “I thank people of Gujranwala, especially the elders, families and women for giving such a warm welcome. I have been to Larkana many a times, but yesterday’s jalsa has given me immense happiness as people want change there.”
Meanwhile, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi claimed on Sunday that both PML-N and PPP have been rejected by the people. Addressing the rally, Qureshi said that “exit of corrupt rulers” was imperative to achieve the goal of naya Pakistan. He said that Imran Khan got “two wickets with one ball”, one in Larkana on Friday and the second in Gujranwala. He urged the people of Gujranwala to take part in the party’s political showdown on November 30. The PTI leader also denounced the rallies taken out by PML-N in Gujranwala on Sunday. “Why is PML-N staging rallies in Gujranwala while a procession is being held by the PTI,” he asked.
