Ayaz files nomination paper for speaker's office
APPISLAMABAD - Sardar Ayaz Sadiq – the candidate of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N for the office of National Assembly speaker - on Sunday filed his nomination papers.
Lawmakers - including Zahid Hamid, Talal Chaudhary, Tahira Aurangzeb, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Muhammad Junaid Anwaar Chaudhry and Abdul Hakeem Baloch proposed the name of Ayaz for the election of National Assembly speaker.
According to the schedule announced by the National Assembly’s Secretariat, last date for filling of nomination paper for the election to the office of speaker was November 8 before 12pm.
Only three candidates - Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Shafqat Mahmood and Syed Ghazi Gulab Jamal - have filed the nomination papers for the speaker’s election within the specified time.
